The grand opening of a new tractor factory in the Rostov region took place on March 5, the press service of the regional governor reports.
The plant was created by the Rostselmash company. It is the first tractor plant in post-Soviet Russia. It will create up to a thousand jobs.
“In the anniversary year of Rostselmash, the year of its 95th anniversary, this is already the third production that the company has opened. Modern tractors of various capacities, as well as road construction equipment, up to 5,000 units per year will be produced here.””said Governor Vasily Golubev, who was present at the opening ceremony.
During the inauguration of the plant, an awards ceremony was held for workers who distinguished themselves in preparing for the start of tractor production.
Two other production facilities opened by Rostseldmash this year are an agricultural machinery plant and a transmission plant. The three plants will help solve import substitution problems and guarantee the country’s technological sovereignty.
The total investment in these three companies exceeded 22.5 billion rubles. It is planned to create about 3.2 thousand jobs.
