The British Treasury lifted sanctions on the founder and director of the energy company Areti, billionaire Igor Makarov, on March 5, as follows from the sanctions list.
“This entry has been removed from the consolidated list and is no longer subject to sanctions including asset seizure and prohibition on the provision of trust services: Igor Viktorovich Makarov (ID 15586)”reads the note to the sanctions list.
Recall that Igor Makarov renounced Russian citizenship in June 2023. He is the founder of the Itera group, after the sale of which he created the company Areti International. The United Kingdom imposed sanctions on him in September 2022.
Also previously, the United Kingdom lifted sanctions against Oleg Tinkov (this material (information) was produced, distributed and/or sent by a foreign agent of Oleg Tinkov or relates to the activities of a foreign agent Oleg Tinkov) and member of the board of directors of Otkritie Bank Sergei Stognienko.
