The tasks of disrupting the control system of a detachment of ships and reconnaissance aircraft of the mock enemy were carried out by small units of an independent electronic warfare (EW) center of the Baltic Fleet, the press service reported on March 5 of the fleet.
A special tactical exercise of electronic warfare units was held in the Kaliningrad region. In modern military operations, electronic warfare is used to achieve tactical advantage in resolving defensive and offensive missions. It helps neutralize the enemy’s ability to gather intelligence and coordinate their forces.
According to the legend of the exercise, a detachment of ships carrying cruise missiles from foreign countries entered the fleet’s zone of responsibility. The crews of the Murmansk-BN electronic warfare complex carried out a rapid accumulation of means that are in constant combat service.
Electronic warfare specialists during electronic reconnaissance identified and classified the radio frequencies of several reconnaissance aircraft with a radio detection and aeronautical guidance complex. Then the military, using the capabilities of the Murmansk-BM complex, “blinded” and “suppressed” the mock enemy, which made it possible to disrupt the control system of the surface and air forces.
The press service also reported that electronic warfare forces and means on duty in the Baltic Sea area periodically detect radio frequencies in the shortwave range of surface ships and submarines, as well as patrol aircraft. bases and strategic bombers of foreign navies.
It should be noted that with the help of the shortwave coastal electronic warfare complex “Murmansk-BN” it is possible to conduct radio reconnaissance, intercept and suppress enemy signals in the entire shortwave range at distances up to 5 thousand km. . The complex allows detecting and finding courses of standard HF radiocommunication equipment and ensures the creation of interference on HF radiocommunication lines at the enemy’s operational-strategic and operational-tactical command and control levels.
