Climate activists twice interrupted PS Secretary General Pedro Nuno Santos’ speech during a party rally held at Aula Magna in Lisbon on Tuesday.
The socialist leader’s speech was interrupted by two young men from the End Fossils movement.
The group stated this. According to the statement, a dozen young people stood up to give a speech in which they accused the PS leader of “deciding to increase the country’s emissions.”
“The students were interrupted and forcibly expelled from the rally by party activists,” they say.
The fan also interrupted Pedro Nuno Santos
Next, a supporter of Pedro Nuno Santos again interrupted the candidate’s speech with words of support. There was laughter in the hall, and the PS Secretary General commented: “I thought it was again. Respect for those who disagree with us.”
The PS rally was also stopped for several minutes due to sound problems as Presidential Minister Mariana Vieira da Silva began her speech.
