The sixth hearing of the trial in the death of Igor Silva, an FC Porto fan who was stabbed 18 times during the 2022 title celebrations, will take place this Wednesday. at the São João Novo court in Porto.
ABOUT CM he knows that Igor’s family will be questioned in the afternoon. Marco “Orelhas”, his wife and son Renato are in court.
The first witness to be heard was Igor’s girlfriend’s friend. He said that he was at a party with Igor’s girlfriend and saw Marco Gonçalves (“Orellas”) running. He also said that he saw Igor fall, that he saw many people in excitement, but did not name names.
The lawyer for Igor’s family asked to challenge the witness based on the testimony he gave to the judicial police, but the defense did not agree. Given the contradictions, he requested a certificate so that prosecutors could investigate any possible crime related to false statements.
The second witness, Cassandra’s boyfriend, one of the defendants, said he didn’t remember anything. Earlier, to the judicial police, he told some details of what he saw, but now stated that he did not remember.
He also mentioned that he saw all the accused near the trailer, except for Marco “Orelhas” and Paulo Chanfras. He explains that Igor went there, “but doesn’t remember anything else.”
One of the firefighters who helped Igor Silva on the night of the celebrations became the third witness questioned. He claims that at the time of the attack on the FC Porto fan, he was in an ambulance, providing assistance to the victim.
In court, he explains what he knows about the attack on Elizabeth, another young woman who was attacked. “I saw a woman being attacked by other women. They beat her with their hands, feet and head against the ambulance,” he said.
“They started hitting our ambulance, we asked for help and left from there,” he explains, adding that there were no security conditions.
Another firefighter, Igor’s neighbor, assured that she knew nothing about the crime. “I just took Igor’s sister to the place where everything happened, and my daughter found a razor in the grass,” he said.
The fifth witness also reported seeing “a boy running and a group of other boys behind him (Igor).” “I saw the boys grab him and then a man attacked him. I only noticed the impacts. Then he fell to the ground. The police walked past me and I showed what was happening there,” he said.
The witness also assured that while Igor was on the ground, they continued to attack him. “He was no longer defending himself,” he added.
This morning is marked by a number of contradictions in the testimony of witnesses between what they said in court and what they say in court.
The trial resumed after the lunch break when the SP inspector testified on video recordings of the clashes. He started by explaining who the people in the video were and explained what was seen, especially on the CCTV cameras.
He also said that they analyzed the mobile phone of Miguel Pereira, one of the accused, and highlighted the fact that that night he exchanged messages with an unidentified person and said that something bad had happened.
He then also exchanged messages with Iara (Marco “Orelhas’s” daughter) in which he told her to delete all the files he had from that night, namely photographs.
A few days later, Iara also sent a message saying: “My brother has disgraced his life.”
Some family members awaiting a call will also be interviewed. If that doesn’t happen this afternoon, testimony may be rescheduled for tomorrow.
Let us remind you that seven people are accused of murder in the case. “Orelhas” and his son Renato are in pre-trial detention, as are two other defendants. Three more are free.
