The Independent General Council (CGI) recently published a report evaluating the strategic RTP project in 2021, which exceeded its investment commitments in the area of national production of independent cinematographic and audiovisual works by approximately 45%. Taking into account the income from the audiovisual contribution, the excess of the statutory obligations amounted to 5.72 million euros. In the previous year, this overspending compared to what the law requires was about 1.8 million, that is, 7.5 million in two years. It is now known that RTP should present a loss of around 8 million euros after years of positive results. Guilt?
The costs of covering the war, the increase in the cost of energy and the bill for the World Cup: these are the reasons given by the Nicolau Santos administration when it went to Parliament. Just no! RTP has losses because it manages its expenses in the manner described above. Facilitates support for mass productions that are not reflected in the growth of the channel’s audience, which is increasingly a service without an audience. This sacrifices the investment that should have been made in scheduling programs that offer more than just repetition. It is suffocating its most valuable asset – the remaining good professionals who do not even have the updated civil servants’ salaries and who could produce what they order, in addition to independent manufacturers. It’s good to remember the number: RTP costs us about 400 thousand euros per day. What happens when we’re not looking is the equivalent of four Alexandras Reis every five days.
16th round
“Tinto no Branco” adds more viewers than “Perplexidades” and extends its lead: now the score is 9-6 due to a stupid score presented by Nuno Santos. A whole week for Santos, in terms of numbers, as information that is, let’s say, “in the lead” managed to break a long post of weeks during which he lost RTP 1: “Jornal das 8” defeated “Telejornal” on three out of five days weeks. Now that you know it’s over, you’ve won…
And not even on purpose, at the moment of the death of the newspaper that José Alberto Carvalho created to try to make people forget about the newspaper, which, like no other, was run by Manuela Moura Guedes, there is fear. Queluz de Baixo fears that after the host’s disastrous performances and the public’s ludicrous values, when TVI’s Jornal das 8 on TVI is renamed Jornal Nacional, the weekend version will have to adopt the name Jornal do Bairro.
and other names
After “Perplexidades” last week, two very interesting nicknames go backstage on TV in Queluz de Baixo. One of them talks about “About Corta Relvas”, a subtle reference to landscape modification techniques. Another mentions the “Composter”, another garden metaphor, to highlight the uniqueness of the processor, which turns whatever is given to it into fertilizer on all fronts.
DISAPPEARANCE….
CARLOS ENES – TVI
He is one of the Queluz de Baixo station’s most valuable assets and one of the best professionals of his generation. It is noted that this is not a priority for the “strategy” of management, but it is inevitable that it makes every opportunity won a high moment of information, which is low. The news of the millionaire’s fine being levied on former rulers and, above all, how Carlos Enes does not give up on history and provides proper “follow-up” is a lesson for anyone who wants to learn how to do investigative journalism: even if, presumably, made 10 years ago.
DISAPPEAR….
BE CAREFUL WITH THE APPEARANCE
I don’t interfere in the affairs of reporter Ana Geraldez, whose work, by the way, I appreciate. Here the question is different: why did no one notice that the pin he wore on his lapel is easily confused with the symbol of the “Liberal Initiative”?! On any given work day, my attention to detail would have been excessive, but it just so happened that on a work day, the reporter was on the air… from the IL Convention. And here is no longer a detail for someone to confuse the accessory with the goal.
