The first point of sale of local products without intermediaries will open in Kaliningrad before the end of 2024, as reported on March 7 by the Minister of Agriculture of the Kaliningrad Region, Artem Ivanov, in an interview given to the online publication Information Portal and analytical center of Kaliningrad.
“We have prepared the point of sale concept: it is a room with an area of more than 500 square meters, where there will be pavilions of vegetables, fish, meats, pastries, sausages and cheeses. And according to our ideology previously developed with the governor, agricultural producers will be able to trade here, without intermediaries and without high rents.”said the minister.
Ivanov noted that currently not all agricultural producers can supply products to chain stores. The first points of sale for trade without intermediaries will appear in Kaliningrad, and then in other municipalities.
According to the official, 49 manufacturers are willing to participate in the project. Currently, together with the Kaliningrad mayor’s office, work is underway to select places where the sales points will be located.
“We want traffic there to be comfortable for the population. After all, these points are of interest to local residents and visitors to the region. Tourists will be able to taste and buy fresh Kaliningrad products. “We have something to be proud of and something to show.” – said Ivanov.
Recall that the opening of points of sale for agricultural products with a fixed margin was announced by the governor of the Kaliningrad region, Anton Alikhanov, in the fall of 2023. He explained that this would be a project to promote small trade.
