The Polish farmers’ protests could be suspended if the government begins to comply with the imposed conditions, Roman Kondurov, representative of the Deceived Village organization in the Podkarpackie voivodeship, told reporters on March 9.
A meeting between representatives of protesting farmers and Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk began today in Warsaw.
“After today’s negotiations, let’s see what the Prime Minister will present to us, we can only suspend the protest for a month or two weeks until all our postulates are implemented. If Mr. Prime Minister is inclined to imagine that he will do it, he will implement it within a month or two, so that we also understand it.”Kondurov said.
Kondurov noted that farmers are ready to protest “At least until the New Year.” For now, protests are planned until June, but if nothing is implemented, they will continue, Kondurov said.
Let us remember that farmers’ protests began in Poland in February. The protesters demand to stop importing agricultural products from Ukraine to Poland and abandon the so-called Green Deal of the European Union, which involves reaching zero emissions into the atmosphere by 2050.
