This Monday, the Iranian government considered the US decision to send humanitarian aid by air to the Gaza Strip ridiculous and “symbolic,” once again criticizing Washington’s support for Israel in the midst of an offensive against the Palestinian enclave.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani complained about the “painful inaction of the international community” and recalled that Washington was the “main factor” in the continuation of the conflict.
According to Iran’s Mehr news agency, Kanani deplored the “painful inaction of the international community” and recalled that Washington was the “major factor” in the continuation of the conflict.
The Iranian MNE spokesman also criticized the fact that the UN Security Council has taken no action on the Israeli offensive on Gaza – after several vetoes by the US – and stressed that the body’s “primary task” is to guarantee international peace and security “
“In view of the US Government’s support for the Zionist regime, we have found that the world and the international assemblies, the UN and the Security Council have failed in their human, legal and international duty to wage war and maintain world peace,” he ruled.
According to another Iranian news agency, Tasnim, Iran tried to send humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip through Egypt, but this was no longer possible because Tehran could not do this on a daily basis.
“The Egyptian government stated during consultations that, unfortunately, the regime [israelita] does not allow aid to be delivered, but this has not stopped Iran from making efforts,” he said, accusing Israeli authorities of genocide and trying to starve Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Following these attacks, the Israeli army launched an offensive on the Gaza Strip, which killed 1,200 people and abducted about 240.
Since then, Gaza authorities have recorded the deaths of more than 31,100 people, most of them civilians, and another 415 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem due to security forces and attacks by Israeli settlers.
