Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West this Wednesday that Russia is ready for a future nuclear war, as quoted by Reuters. In the warning, Putin made it clear that war could happen if the United States sent troops to Ukraine.
“From a military-technical point of view, we are, of course, ready,” the Russian president said in an interview with the Rossiya-1 TV channel.
“There are enough experts in the field of Russian-American relations and in the field of strategic deterrence. Therefore, I don’t think that everyone here is in a hurry for this (nuclear confrontation), but we are ready for it,” he added. .
Vladimir Putin also said that Russia’s nuclear weapons are “more advanced” than the US nuclear arsenal: “Only we and the Americans have triads (weapon systems launched from land, sea and air). We are much more advanced. Our entire nuclear component” is the most modern.”
