A North American court has sentenced the father of a teenager who killed four classmates at a school near Detroit in the United States, the agency reported this Thursday. Reuters.
Prosecutors argued that James Crumbley, 47, was responsible for the crime because he gave the gun to his 15-year-old son and ignored warning signs of violence.
James faces four counts of manslaughter, one for each victim. His wife Jennifer was sentenced in February and they both face sentencing next month. This is a historic decision by the American justice system, which has never convicted the shooter’s parents.
Son Ethan pleaded guilty in 2022 to four counts of first-degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole in December. He killed four classmates: Hana St. Juliana, 14, Tate Myra, 16, Madisyn Baldwin, 17, and Justin Schilling, also 17.
