
A 19-year-old girl who poured dye into a ballot box was detained by police officers on March 16 in the city of Borisoglebsk, Voronezh region, the press service of the regional General Directorate of the Ministry of the Interior reports.
The girl was taken to the territorial police station and the materials were handed over to the investigating authorities.
The department recalled that article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (obstruction of the exercise of electoral rights or the work of electoral commissions) provides for up to five years in prison.
Previously in Borisoglebsk, similar incidents occurred at two other polling stations. Residents of the area, aged 58 and 66, were arrested. Criminal cases have been initiated against them under Article 141 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
Similar incidents are occurring in other regions of Russia.
On March 15, the press service of the election commission of the Krasnodar region reported that residents of the region received calls urging them to spoil ballots, ballot boxes and voting booths.
