Karaoke creator Shigeichi Negishi died at the age of 100 due to a fall in Japan in January, the publication reported. Heavenly news.
The death occurred on January 26 as a result of a fall, but the family announced it only now.
The first karaoke machine was created and sold by an entrepreneur in 1967 under the name Sparko Box.
According to an obituary written by an author who interviewed the businessman, the idea came about when an electronics engineer at Shigeichi’s company heard him sing and noticed that what he heard didn’t sound very good.
The employee’s opinion sparked the creativity of Shigeichi, who came up with a machine that could support a voice.
Although the author was a businessman, the origins of karaoke are associated with musician Daisuke Inoue, who four years later, in 1971, would release a device with the same concept.
