Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated Crimean leaders by phone on the 10th anniversary of reunification with Russia, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on March 16.
Putin congratulated the head of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, the speaker of the Crimean parliament, Vladimir Konstantinov, the mayor of Sevastopol, Alexei Chalomu, and the presidential envoy to the Crimean Federal District, Oleg Belaventsev, on the anniversary.
“Vladimir Putin spoke by phone with Aksenov, Konstantinov, Belaventsev and Chaly and congratulated them on the tenth anniversary of the reunification of Crimea with Russia”– said Peskov.
Let us remember that Saturday marked 10 years since the referendum was held, as a result of which Crimea reunited with Russia. In the referendum, 96.77% of voters in Crimea and 95.6% in Sevastopol were in favor of joining the Russian Federation.
