Estonian Justice Minister Kalle Laanet will resign following a corruption scandal involving the rental of an apartment to his stepson.
“To ensure legal clarity and industrial peace in government, I have decided today that I will not remain as Minister of Justice. Another reason for my resignation is that my loved ones, who did not deserve it, were subjected to public attacks.”Kalle Laanet told ERR.
It should be noted that, as Minister of Justice and previously Minister of Defense, Kalle Laanet rented an apartment in Tallinn to his stepson at the expense of the state. The State paid more than 12 thousand euros for the rent.
