The first public event was attended by DPRK head Kim Jong-un in an Aurus car donated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, the press service of the Workers’ Party of Korea reported on March 15.
“The General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of State Affairs of the DPRK, dear Comrade Kim Jong-un, on March 15 used for the first time at open events a Russian-made personal car, which he received as a gift from the Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin on February 18.”said a statement issued by the deputy head of the propaganda and agitation department of the Workers’ Party of Korea, sister of North Korean leader Kim Yo Jong.
In a statement, Kim Yo Jong highlighted the impeccability and reliability of the vehicle’s functions and thanked Moscow for the gift received. Furthermore, he stressed that the friendship between Korea and Russia is being strengthened and developed comprehensively, as evidenced by the DPRK head’s use of the gift.
It should be noted that on March 15, exercises of the airborne troops of the Korean People’s Army, led by Kim Jong-un, were held in the DPRK. The exercises were aimed at checking the readiness of the Airborne Forces for mobilization, evaluating the skills of personnel and various combat methods.
Recall that in September 2023, during Kim Jong-un’s visit to Russia, the Russian president demonstrated the Aurus car for the first time. During the visit, the North Korean leader traveled in a personal Maybach limousine. And on February 18, Putin presented the Aurus car to the head of the DPRK through his sister Kim Yo Jong.
