The contractor’s work on the reconstruction of the State Garden in Kerch was suspended for 45 days, the Kerch.com.ru portal reported on March 16.
The reason for the interruption of work was an order of the Crimean Ministry of Culture, which concerns the objects of archaeological heritage identified on the territory of the site.
“Archaeologists will visit the site and study the territory of the garden to see if there are archaeological objects and valuables there.”says the material.
It is reported that a period of 45 days is assigned for this work.
The deputy of the Kerch City Council, Elena Polyushkina, sent the corresponding request to the Ministry of Culture of Crimea, opposing the current project of reconstruction of the State Garden. According to her, serious violations occurred in the project that could lead to the death of the garden.
He also sent letters about the problems associated with reconstruction to the Investigative Committee, the Crimean Ministry of Ecology, the head of the Republic of Crimea, Sergei Aksenov, and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to her, the investigative committee has already started an inspection and a response has arrived from the Ministry of Ecology, which reports that the Kerch authorities have not carried out the necessary work on the inventory of green spaces.
Recall that in 2024 in Kerch it was planned to reconstruct the territory in the oak grove area of the State Garden. The reason only 5 hectares are eligible for reconstruction is because the city’s limited budget does not allow for the reconstruction of the entire park.
