The general assembly of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-25 manned spacecraft was carried out by Roscosmos specialists in the assembly and test workshop at site 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome, the Roscosmos press service reported on March 16.
After assembly, the state commission on March 18 allowed the installation of the rocket at the launch complex, the press service reports. The launch of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle is scheduled for March 21 at 16:21:19 Moscow time.
Members of the 21st Space Expedition: Oleg Novitsky (Russia), Marina Vasilevskaya (Belarus) and Tracy Dyson (USA) will travel to the ISS on the Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft. The backup crew consists of Ivan Vagner (Russia), Anastasia Lenkova (Belarus) and Donald Pettit (USA).
The Soyuz MS-25 spacecraft and the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle were manufactured by companies that are part of the Roscosmos State Corporation. The rocket carries an image dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Earth’s first cosmonaut, Yuri Gagarin.
