Members of the territorial electoral commission of the Beloretsky district brought the ballot boxes for the presidential elections in Russia to the 92-year-old forest hermit, MK reports on March 17.
According to the publication, Salimgareev, who has lived for more than 50 years far from the city of Kinyagul, was visited by members of the electoral commission with a ballot box. The hermit had tea with the officials and then voted in the Russian presidential elections.
Salimgareev lives on the site of the former village of Subkhangulovo, also known as Urman-revet. Since the second half of the 1950s, the town began to be considered unpromising due to its remoteness. The hermit receives a visit from his nephew, who brings him food and medicine.
It should be noted that according to the Central Election Commission of Bashkiria, turnout in the elections in the region was 67.03%. 1,972,115 people participated in the vote.
