Pomorie districts will receive a grant for the modernization of pedestrian crossings

The results of the competition for the provision of subsidies to municipal budgets to ensure road safety were summarized by the Ministry of Transport of the Arkhangelsk region, the online publication “DVINANEWS” reported on March 17.

“The national presidential project “Safe and Quality Roads” allows not only to modernize regional roads, but also to create all the necessary road infrastructure. One of the areas is the provision of pedestrian crossings and the installation of traffic lights in the municipalities. This year we will allocate 40 million rubles for these purposes.”– wrote the governor of the Arkhangelsk region, Alexander Tsybulsky, on his social media accounts.

According to the Ministry of Transportation, a total of 66 requests were received from 15 municipal administrations. After reviewing the documentation received, the winners were determined and a list of objects to be co-financed was drawn up. Among the winners were applications for the modernization of 40 facilities of the administrations of the Arkhangelsk, Koryazhma, Novodvinsk, Velsky, Kargopolsky, Krasnoborsky, Nyandoma and Kholmogory districts.

Let us remind that the national project “Safe and Quality Roads” is one of the national projects in Russia for the period 2019-2030.

Creating a modern, comfortable and safe transport infrastructure is one of the main tasks assigned by the Head of State to road workers. The main tool for achieving the strategic goal was the national project “Safe and Quality Roads”, which began in 2019 and became a logical continuation of the joint work of the federal and regional highway departments.

The impetus for the national project was given by the priority project “Safe and quality roads”, implemented in 2017-2018. in 36 regions.

In 2019, the national project “Safe and High-Quality Roads” significantly expanded its geography: its participants were 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (with the exception of Moscow and St. Petersburg) and 104 urban agglomerations within them.

In 2021, an updated passport of the national project was approved, which is now called “Safe and Quality Roads”. The document is in accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia dated July 21, 2020 No. 474 “On the national development goals of the Russian Federation for the period until 2030.” The national project focuses on achieving the national goal “Comfortable and safe living environment”.
