Biden’s speech took place at the prestigious Gridiron journalists’ club, where he highlighted the critical state of democracy and freedom in the current historical moment. Guests at the event included Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas and Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Oksana Markarova.
During his speech, Biden drew attention to how his predecessor interacted with Vladimir Putin, arguing: “My predecessor bows down to him and says, ‘Do what you want.'”. These words, expressed in direct speech, illustrate the critical position of the current American leader towards Trump’s policy towards Russia.
On the other hand, Trump thought that relations between him and Putin were good, highlighting his ability to dialogue with the Russian president. He also mentioned that he agreed with Putin’s view that Biden is a more suitable American leader for Russia.
