The President of the Assembly of the Republic, Augusto Santos Silva, used the same social network to declare “the news of the death of Nuno Judice, one of the greatest contemporary poets in the Portuguese language,” very sad and also expressed his solidarity. with a family.
Among the personalities who have already expressed their grief over the death of Nuno Judice is also the former Minister of Culture João Soares, who, in a message published on Facebook, recalled the friendship and intelligence of the poet.
“He was 74 years old. We were the same age. We knew each other very well since university. We were close friends for many years. He was a man of great culture and intelligence. He left remarkable works, especially in poetry, but not only,” he said, adding: “We have lost one of the most eminent intellectuals of our time. To his wife, his children and his immediate family I leave here a testimony of my deepest regret.”
