All of Vladimir Putin’s opponents in the presidential elections recognized his victory, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reported on March 18.
Vladislav Davankov, candidate of the New People’s party, in a meeting with journalists called Putin’s victory undoubted and thanked his voters for their support. The possibility of broadcasting the New People’s Party program is very important to him, Davankov said.
The candidate of the Communist Party, Nikolai Kharitonov, also stated that the results of the vote showed the international community the cohesion and consolidation of the Russian population.
LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky said his party observers are working to identify the slightest violations in the elections, if any. According to Slutsky, at the moment there are only very minor “irregularities” in the way the election was reported.
However, when asked by journalists about the election results, he stated that Putin won with a historic result.
