The Portuguese national rugby team lost this Sunday to Georgia 36-10 in the final of the Rugby European Championship 2024 (REC24) at the Stade Jean Bouin in Paris and failed to win the second European title in its history.
By the break, Portugal was already losing 12-3 with a penalty from Hugo Camacho (40+1 minutes) and only after Georgia “shot” with attempts from Akaki Tabutsadze (43, 64), Vano Karkadze (50) and Mikhail. “Alania” (69) is that the “wolves” managed to break through the goal thanks to Rodrigo Marte (79).
Portugal thus repeated the 38-11 defeat of a year ago in Badajoz, the first year the knockout group stage format was introduced, and failed to achieve the goal of repeating the European title won in 2004.
