The price of WTI oil futures for May increased by $0.4 compared to the previous day of trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange, according to data as of March 18 at 7:45 Moscow time.
The price of West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures for May at the end of the Asian session on the NYMEX exchange was $80.9 per barrel, 0.5% more than the previous day’s data. West Texas crude oil futures prices rose for the fourth consecutive day, reaching levels seen in late October 2023.
The price of Brent oil futures for delivery in May on the London ICE Exchange rose to $85.7 per barrel, 0.4% higher than at the end of the previous trading.
The rise in oil prices occurs against a backdrop of growing geopolitical tensions. In addition, stock speculators react to the publication of positive data on the state of the Chinese economy.
