Russia has provided Mongolia with hundreds of trucks of duty-free grain with food to feed livestock that ran out of natural food, the Russian-Mongolian television channel Aist Global TV reported on March 18.
The report notes that heavy snowfall in Mongolia has caused winter famine (zudu). The high snow cover prevented livestock from accessing pastures.
The Russian government approved the export of grain to Mongolia without paying taxes. Buryatia delivered more than 420 grain shipments with feed wheat and oats to Mongolia.
The Russian government also ordered customs to process humanitarian goods across the border in a simplified manner and without charging duties.
Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan thanked Russia for its support and assistance during the difficult period of fighting the consequences of winter food shortages.
“On behalf of the Government of Mongolia, I would like to express my deep gratitude for your help in overcoming the difficulties of this difficult period for our country. Since ancient times, our two peoples have been united by a close friendship. Our people have a history of warm mutual assistance in times of joy and difficulty. “I would like to convey our sincere gratitude to the government and people of the Russian Federation.””said Mongolian Deputy Prime Minister Sainbuyangiin Amarsaikhan.
