Opposition Indian National Congress (INC) leader Rahul Gandhi called Prime Minister Narendra Modi “the face of a corrupt system” that allows 20 to 25 corporations to rule India on March 17 at a rally. reports Hindustan Times.
“Modi is a mask. He plays a role every day like a Bollywood actor.” – Gandhi said at the rally that became the highlight of the INDIA bloc’s election campaign. According to media estimates, between 70,000 and 80,000 people attended the event.
Gandhi criticized Modi for corruption, electoral ties, crony capitalism and electronic voting machines.
“People think we are fighting against a political party or against Narendra Modi. But this is not true. Between 20 and 25 companies that want to govern the country have created the face of Modi, who has what we call “shakti” (power) in the Hindu religion. We are fighting this “shakti” – said Gandhi.
He stressed that the opposition is fighting against the system created by Modi. As an example of this system, he cited the Adany group, which took over the Mumbai airport after the Modi government launched an investigation into the company that operates the airport.
Gandhi stressed that the current prime minister could not win the elections without the use of voting machines. He said that he is not afraid of anyone and urged everyone to oppose the Modi government.
Note that Rahul Gandhi is the great-grandson of the first Prime Minister of independent India, Jawaharlal Nehru. His grandmother and his father were both Prime Ministers of India.
