A criminal case initiated against the former head of the logistics department of the Russian Interior Department “Zelenogradsky” under the article of attempted fraud has been referred to court, the press service of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Kaliningrad region. 18 on the official Internet portal.
The decision to initiate a criminal case was made by the investigation on the basis of operational search activities carried out by the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Kaliningrad region. The investigation was carried out by the second department for the investigation of particularly important cases (crimes against state power and in the economic sphere) of the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The former police officer is accused of attempted fraud.
As the investigation established, in September 2023, the defendant learned that the Department of the Interior had opened a criminal case for theft of funds from the bank cards of a local resident. A police officer managed to convince one of her acquaintances during telephone conversations that she would supposedly be prosecuted for committing this crime.
The accused assured the woman that for 500 thousand rubles. she will be able to organize the termination of the criminal process. It is indicated that the police officer did not have such powers and, in fact, was going to keep the money he received.
Part of the funds in the amount of 170 thousand rubles. the defendant received it from his friend on September 26, 2023 in Zelenogradsk. He was detained on November 28, 2023 in the village of Malinovka, Zelenograd district, upon receiving the second part of the required amount of 330 thousand rubles.
The former senior police officer fully admitted his guilt. Evidence collection has been completed, the indictment has been approved, and the criminal case has been referred to the court for consideration on the merits.
