Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi called on Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi to use all national capabilities to stop importing food, the Tasnim news agency reported on March 18.
“Iran’s domestic capacity must be used to the maximum for the country to be self-sufficient in food production.”Raisi said at a meeting of the Supreme Council for Health and Food Safety held in Tehran.
The Iranian president noted that food security indicators and improving food quality are the main components of the country’s regional and international power. “Food security is expressed in the supply of healthy, high-quality, affordable and easily accessible food for all consumers”He explained.
Raisi called on the Ministry of Agriculture to control cropping patterns, prioritizing the production of basic foodstuffs and attract knowledge-based companies to the food sector.
