A regional state of emergency has been declared in the Amur region due to the collapse of the Pioneer mine, the press service of the government of the Amur region reported on March 19.
The governor of the Amur region, Vasily Orlov, declared a regional state of emergency due to the collapse of a Pioneer mine in the Zeya district, where 13 people were trapped under the rubble due to rockfall.
“A regional emergency regime has been introduced in the Amur region due to the incident at the Pioneer mine in the Zeya district to mobilize all forces and resources. “This decision was made at an extraordinary meeting of the CoES, chaired by the governor of the Amur region.”states the government press service.
According to preliminary data, the victims were workers from other regions. According to the authorities, there is still no contact with them.
It should be noted that Yakutian mine rescuers, consisting of a group of 25 people and 4 teams, were transferred to the mine. A helicopter of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations with rescuers and special equipment flew from the Khabarovsk Territory to the Zeya district.
The haulage slope at the mine is being cleared and attempts are being made to re-establish contact with the miners.
