The assistant coach of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club, Konstantin Koltsov, has died, the club announced on March 19 on its Telegram channel.
The famous Belarusian hockey player and coach of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club, Konstantin Koltsov, died at the age of 42 during a trip to Miami.
Konstantin Koltsov, as part of Salavat Yulaev, won the Russian Championship and took the Gagarin Cup. While on the ice, in addition to Pittsburgh, he played for the Belarusian clubs Yunost and Dynamo (Minsk), as well as the Russian clubs Severstal, Metallurg (Novokuznetsk), Ak Bars, Spartak and Atlant.” He has played for the Belarusian national team since 1999 and participated in the Olympic Games in Salt Lake City and Vancouver.
He began his coaching career at Dynamo Minsk, and also worked at Dynamo Molodechno and Spartak Moscow until he took up the position of assistant coach at Salavat Yulaev.
