The attacks on doctors and hospitals in the Gaza Strip are deliberately carried out by the Israeli army, British oncologist Nick Maynard said at a press conference at UN headquarters on March 19.
Nick Maynard, who was in the Gaza Strip over the New Year period, said:
“I would like to dispel the accusations we heard from the Israelis and some media outlets about targeted bombing and protection of civilians. I, like any doctor who has been in Gaza, can dispel this statement with absolute certainty: there is a mass of indiscriminate bombings that have killed many thousands of civilians, and absolutely obvious attacks on medical facilities and health workers, the deliberate destruction infrastructure of all hospitals.”Maynard said.
According to him, he witnessed “the most shocking atrocities”which “I didn’t expect to see you in a medical center.”.
Maynard noted that while Israel claims to be targeting Hamas militants, it has not seen any evidence of Hamas military activity in any hospitals. “I have never seen evidence that there are Hamas fighters in hospitals.”. He also stressed that he had seen no evidence of tunnels beneath the hospitals.
Speaking about the IDF statements, Maynard stated: “In light of what I saw there, these statements of his are completely untrustworthy.”.
It should be noted that Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip killed 31 thousand people and injured more than 72 thousand.
