The operation of Stavropol airport was restored after the repair of the runway, where damage had previously been detected, the press service of the air port reported on March 19.
The airport is once again accepting planes as usual. The night flight from Moscow to Stavropol will depart as scheduled.
On Tuesday, March 19, damage was discovered on the runway at Stavropol airport. The governor of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, said on his Telegram channel that employees managed to restore the strip two hours ahead of schedule.
It should be noted that Vladimirov also outlined plans for the current year for the renovation of the airport. It is planned to build a new terminal, a modern baggage handling system, comfortable lounges and free parking for 150 spaces. The issue of runway reconstruction is being considered in the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
The governor added that the area of damage to the runway was about 30 square meters. m. During repairs, planes flying to Stavropol were diverted to Mineralnye Vody airport.
