Former player Dani Alves, detained on rape charges, could be released from prison if he pays a €1 million bail and does not leave Spain.
According to the newspaper El Español, withAfter posting bail, the former footballer will have his two passports, Spanish and Brazilian, taken away to prevent him from leaving the territory.
Dani Alves is required to appear in court weekly and is prohibited from approaching the victim within a distance of at least a thousand meters from her home, place of work or any other place frequently visited by the applicant, as well as communicating with her by any means.
In February, the Brazilian was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. He is accused of raping a 23-year-old woman on January 30, 2022, in the bathroom of a nightclub in the Catalan capital. “The victim did not give consent, and there is evidence that, in addition to the testimony of the applicant, allows us to consider rape proven,” the court said in a press release.
