The Swedish National Center for Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI Sweden) presented a strategy for the implementation of artificial intelligence, Aftonbladet newspaper reported on March 20.
“Previously, the government announced a review of its digitalization policy. Work is currently underway to develop a new digitalization strategy that reaffirms Sweden’s role as a digital leader. What AI Sweden presented today is a valuable contribution.”said Swedish Civil Affairs Minister Erik Slottner.
The strategy states that Sweden must implement artificial intelligence at all levels of society and in all areas. The first step could be to surpass Denmark and Finland in the international rankings.
One of the specific proposals of the strategy is that Sweden should be in the top ten of the global AI index as early as 2025. Sweden is currently ranked 17th, behind Denmark (16th) and Finland (10th). The United States is in first place, followed by China and Singapore.
According to AI Sweden’s press service on the official Internet portal, the artificial intelligence strategy for Sweden was written to help politicians, business leaders, decision-makers and public officials lead and develop Sweden.
