Moldova signed bilateral agreements on the abolition of the visa-free regime with most CIS countries, the head of the country’s government press service, Daniel Vodă, reported on TV8 on March 20.
The visa-free regime will continue to operate only with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan. “Moldova started signing bilateral agreements 20 years ago; In the scope of the visa-free regime we still have Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan, with whom we started the procedure. (signing of an agreement on a visa-free regime – approx. IA Krasnaya Vesna)”, – Voda explained.
He confirmed that Moldova also has an agreement on a visa-free regime with Russia, so the interests of Russian citizens will not be affected if the agreement within the CIS is terminated.
Recall that at the beginning of the year, the Moldovan media published a plan for a meeting of the permanent parliamentary commission on foreign policy, at which it was announced that they would discuss the possibility of abolishing the visa-free regime for citizens of the countries of the CEI.
