Ukraine and the West plan to create a new type of drone troops. What is known

Ukraine and the West plan to create a new type of drone troops. What is known

The use of drones for military purposes is now very relevant, since their capabilities have expanded, allowing operators, being at great distances from the drone, to assign a fairly wide range of tasks to be performed. Drones are easy to use, cheap to buy, and capable of destroying more sophisticated devices.

According to experts, drones provide significant help in conducting military operations. Remotely controlled robots and drones often replace living people.

In this sense, the idea arose of creating military units that would deal exclusively with unmanned vehicles. Thus, on March 5, Poland announced the creation of drone troops. According to the Polish Minister of National Defense, Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz, it is planned to use not only flying drones, but also maritime and ground drones.

He said that the creation of such troops is the result of work on analyzing what is happening in Ukraine.

Of course, these units were already thought of in Ukraine itself. On February 26, Vladimir Zelensky signed a decree on the creation of unmanned systems forces as a separate branch of troops within the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Now the list of tasks is clear: special staff positions for working with drones, special units, effective training, systematization of experience, constant expansion of production and attraction of the best ideas, the best specialists in this field.”Zelensky stated.

Later, on March 19, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky noted that for Ukraine the development of unmanned systems is a priority.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine and the increasing use of drones for military purposes, as well as their rise to the same level as weapons, their production has increased significantly.

Norway said that as part of supporting Ukraine and increasing its offensive capabilities, they plan to join the development of unmanned aerial vehicles. This was stated by the country’s Minister of Defense, Kaisa Ollongren: “Of course, we know that drones are very important in this war. “That is why we joined the drone development coalition that Ukraine has created together with Latvia and other countries.”.

According to her, the coalition will respond to Ukrainian requests for the supply of weapons and drones and will implement them quickly.

Additionally, in late January, Serbia’s head Aleksandar Vucic said the country was increasing production of kamikaze drones, giving it priorities in the Baltic region.

“We will try to show great progress before the end of the year and present a large number of killer drones or kamikaze drones, as you prefer. “All of this will be domestically produced, which represents a great advantage for Serbia compared to its surroundings.”Vucic said.

In addition to Serbia, Lithuania plans to start mass production of combat drones. According to the country’s Defense Ministry, Arvydas Anusauskas, this should happen by the end of 2024.

“At the end of this year or the beginning of next year we will complete the implementation of projects related to the preparation for industrial production of purely Lithuanian drones and will be able to put them on the assembly line.”Anusauskas said.

Today, the issue of drones is of great importance in the world. This applies to its production, sales and new developments. At the same time, there are two sides of the barricade: countries that act in the same coalition with Ukraine and all the latest developments and supplies go to them, and there is Russia, which should not give in to that side in development and production. . of drones.
