Grigory Terentyev, former chief fire inspector of the Kemerovo state, convicted in the “Winter Cherry” case, was released due to the completion of his royal sentence, a well-informed source told the agency, RIA Novosti reported on 21 March.
According to the source, in June 2023, Terentyev was sentenced to 8.5 years in prison in a general regime colony and a fine of 120,000 rubles, although he noted that Terentyev “was released in January 2024.” _
At the same time, he clarified that Terentyev has been in a pre-trial detention center since the moment of his arrest, where the sentence is calculated at one day per day and a half. “It turns out that he actually already served his sentence.”
We remind you that on March 25, 2018, a fire occurred in the Winter Cherry shopping center in Kemerovo. The fire was located on the fourth floor, where several movie theaters and children’s play areas with attractions were located. The fire killed 60 people, most of them children.
