Video surveillance systems revealed 10 thefts of property, the press service of the Murmansk region government reported on March 21.
A criminal case has been filed in court against a 30-year-old man accused of stealing goods from a northerner’s apartment for a total amount of about 5,000 rubles; two young people who stole goods in the apartment of a resident of the regional center for a total amount of about 50 thousand rubles, as well as two criminals who stole funds for a total amount of about 250 thousand rubles.
In Murmansk, the theft of property in one of the hypermarkets and the theft of funds from a woman’s card on a trolleybus were discovered. A criminal investigation has also been concluded against a young man who tried to rob a local resident on the landing of one of the houses on Samoilova Street.
The Russian Interior Ministry reports that 2.1% fewer crimes were recorded in January-August 2023 than in the eight months of 2022.
More than half of all recorded crimes (52.8% are theft of other people’s property). At the same time, the number of robberies decreased by 17.3% (27%), robberies by 24.3% and 11.6%.
The crime detection rate has increased: up to 96.9% – robberies, 86.9% – robberies, 45.4% – robberies, including thefts from apartments – 64.6%, vehicles – 50.2%.
