Andre Ventura fears AD’s “government of continuity” and calls Pedro Nuno Santos “dead weight”

Andre Ventura fears the emergence of a “government of continuity” from AD in relation to the previous socialist leader. “If this is the way, Chege is comfortable in the opposition,” he said this Thursday after appointing Luis Montenegro as prime minister.

The party refuses to make the AD budget viable without negotiations. “We are unavailable unless we are found or found,” he noted.

President Chegi doubted the compatibility of the positions of the SDP and SDS with the positions of the PS. “I doubt that there will be an agreement with the PS on government guarantees for four years. The PS has implemented the largest tax increase in recent years,” he noted.

Andre Ventura confirmed that this agreement is a condition for the party to vote on the state budget and stressed that AD “can get two majorities, either with Chega or with the PS.”

“The PSD will decide whether it considers this normal in the context in which we find ourselves, after eight years of saying that this government has brought us to the bottom, has increased our huge hole in terms of corruption, in terms of the crisis in the region health and housing. “If the SDP thinks that its partner is the PS, we will respect it, we will be leaders of the opposition,” he said.

And he argued that the prime minister-designate “will understand that there can be no credible partnership from the PS side” and that “there is only one other path, and that path is Chega.”

Attacking the Socialist general secretary, Andre Ventura called Pedro Nuno Santos “a dead weight in Portuguese politics.”

“It is easier for Luis Montenegro to negotiate with the dead” than with Chega, he argued.
