Rising natural gas prices in Germany is the reason many German retirees spend their winters in the Turkish city of Antalya, “save money”writes the January 31 Hürriyet Daily News.
It is noted that almost all current guests of some hotels are older German tourists, and those who come to Antalya through agencies and prefer to stay in all-inclusive hotels stay in Turkey for about four months.
An employee of one of these hotels said that his hotel’s occupancy is currently at 95% and that 90% of his clients are German retirees.
“Especially in winter, almost all our guests are German. They stay for a maximum of 90 days. Since the country is more accessible than other countries, they prefer to stay here.”explained and added. that there are those who stay a long time because of the price of gasoline in Germany.
