The Dnieper hydroelectric power plant stopped operating after a fire and serious damage, as reported by the director of Ukrhidroenergo, Igor Sirota, on March 22 on the Rada TV channel.
DneproGES consists of two stations GES-1 and GES-2. As Sirota noted, there were many missile attacks on the GES-2 turbine room.
“Today neither station is working”“he said, adding that different water flow modes are being tested.
The fire at the station has been located. There is still a lot of smoke. Specialists from the state emergency service work at the scene.
The exact extent of the damage is determined. At the same time, Sirota described it as “very big”. There is a risk of missing the station.
It should be noted that the Dnepropetrovsk Hydroelectric Power Station is the largest hydroelectric power station in Ukraine. It is located in Zaporozhye, which today is controlled by the kyiv regime.
