She underwent abdominal surgery in January and the condition was detected there. She explains in a video that she is taking chemotherapy.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, wife of the heir to the British Crown, William, announced this Friday in a video that she has been diagnosed with cancer and that she has already begun “preventive chemotherapy” treatment.
“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time my condition was believed to be non-cancerous. The surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found that cancer had occurred. Therefore, my “The medical team recommended that I undergo preventive chemotherapy treatment and I am now in the initial stages,” Kate Middleton said.
The announcement, after King Charles III, her husband’s father, also revealed in February that he suffers from unspecified cancer, comes after two months of speculation and rumors about the health of the 42-year-old Princess of Wales.
“I’m doing well and getting stronger every day, focusing on the things that will help me heal, in mind, body and spirit,” he said.
Kate Middleton has described the last two months, since her operation on January 16, as “incredibly hard” and has said the news has had a “huge impact” on her entire family.
“It has taken me time to recover from serious surgery to begin my treatment. But, more importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to (her children) George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I will be good,” he added.
After highlighting the “great source of comfort and tranquility” that having Prince William at her side means, the Princess of Wales asked for “time, space and privacy” during the duration of the treatment.
Kate Middleton has remembered in her message all those affected by cancer and asked them not to lose hope.
Kensington Palace – the official residence of the Princes of Wales – has indicated that they will not reveal any further details about the nature of her cancer or the duration of treatment and has claimed the princess’s “right to medical privacy”.
