The Russian president has assured, in a public appearance, that all the perpetrators of Friday’s attack have been arrested and has asked other countries for cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
The president of Russia, Vladimir Putinappeared this Saturday for the first time after the attack this Friday in the events pavilion Moscow Crocus City Hall to confirm that the four material authors of the massacre that left at least 143 dead and more than 100 injured have been arrested.
Putin, in a video published on the Kremlin website, denounced this “terrorist, bloody and barbaric act” and applauded the work of both the security forces and the rescue services and the civilian population that helped the survivors.
The president of Russia has announced that this coming Sunday, March 24, will be a day of national mourning while declaring “additional anti-terrorist and anti-sabotage measures.”
“All the authors, organizers and those who commissioned this crime They will receive a well-deserved and inevitable punishmentwhoever they are and regardless of who sent them,” Putin said in a television address
“To the terrorists, murderers and beasts, who do not and cannot have a nationality, A disastrous fate awaits them: revenge and oblivion.. They have no future,” she stressed.
He recalled that the Russians know first-hand what the terrorist threat is, in clear reference to the attacks carried out years ago by the Islamist guerrillas in the Caucasus.
“We look forward to cooperation with all countries that sincerely share our pain and are willing in practice to join forces in the fight against the common enemy, international terrorism in all its manifestations,” he said.
Although the jihadist organization Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the attack, the president has not mentioned the group in his speech.
Instead, he has limited himself to indicating, as previously informed by the Federal Security Service, that the suspects of material responsibility for the massacre were detained when they were heading to the Ukrainian border where, according to the president, “they had prepared an entry on the Ukrainian side to cross”.
