Direct flights will connect Astrakhan with 12 Russian cities in 2024, the press service of the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure reported on March 24.
From Astrakhan it will be possible to fly directly to Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Ufa, Yekaterinburg, Vladikavkaz, Pskov, Volgograd, Perm, Chelyabinsk, Sochi and Mineralnye Vody.
Funds to subsidize the flights are planned to come mainly from the regional budget, but Rosaviatsia partially finances the flights to Ufa, Minvody and Sochi.
The first on the launch list is the Astrakhan-Nizhny Novgorod flight, which will also be subsidized. Applications from airlines to participate in this project are accepted from March 13 to 25 inclusive. Flight duration is expected to be 2 hours and 20 minutes and flights will operate twice a week.
