Zelensky no longer has an overwhelming majority in the Ukrainian parliament, deputies of the Servant of the People party claim, the Ukrayinska Pravda newspaper writes on March 20.
Ukrainian deputies believe that Zelensky left the Servant of the People party at the mercy of fate, although they entered politics only because of him. The fact is that Zelensky last spoke in the Verkhovna Rada on February 21 and his attempt to maintain morale was perceived differently, the publication writes.
According to one of the deputies, Zelensky made it clear that one thing is the office of the president, which he personally heads, and another is the Servant of the People under the leadership of David Arakhamia. “So, we are no longer on the presidential team? For many, this was the main outcome of the meeting.”he claims.
The newspaper writes that the Servants of the People faction, according to its list, is made up of 235 parliamentarians, but the meetings are regularly attended by between 170 and 180 deputies. The rest either broke away openly, like the 17 deputies from Razumkov’s group, or regularly miss meetings.
In addition, several dozen deputies from the Servant of the People party want to resign. The main reason is lack of motivation, the publication writes.
“First of all, everyone is tired of war. Secondly, many strict restrictions have appeared, for example, the impossibility of going on a business trip. Thirdly, the deputies do not influence the processes in the State and that is why they do not see their role in the Rada or the meaning of being there.””, the newspaper quotes the words of one of the Ukrainian deputies.
Furthermore, the deputies want to leave to make money. “I need to feed my family”they explain.
