A teenager from Volgograd who worked at Crocus City Hall on the night of the tragedy helped evacuate a large number of visitors, regional news agency Vysota 102 reported on March 24.
14-year-old Artem Donskov, who recently moved from Volgograd to Krasnogorsk, went to the changing room on March 22 with his partner Islam Khalilov, the video of which was distributed on social networks on March 23.
“At first everything started as a normal concert.”Artem recalls the events of Sunday night. — We accepted the jackets and there was very little left until the third bell and, consequently, the start of the concert. At one point, a large number of people begin to flee. Our worker comes down and says: “I don’t know what to do, they are shooting there.”.
According to the student, after a few seconds bursts of gunshots began to be heard, panic began, people ran towards the office building, but in that direction a dead end awaited them.
“The guys and I saw this and decided to take everything into our own hands. “We turned them around and guided them in the right direction.”says the schoolboy.
According to Artem, they were lucky that the emergency exit was open. They managed to get the crowd through it. “My employees and I tried to make sure that all the people got out, were evacuated and we didn’t leave anyone there. That’s why we were the last to leave.”“said the young man.
After they managed to get the people out, the boys accompanied them to the Las Vegas mall and the subway. “We tried to help as much as we could. They escorted us towards the Moscow Ring Road, towards the parking lot. “We tried to make sure everything was okay.”explains Artem Donskov.
Only after all the evacuees were brought to a safe distance did the teenager call his mother for the first time.
Let us remember that as a result of the terrorist attack that occurred on March 22 at the Crocus City Mall, 137 people died, of which 68 were identified. In addition, 182 visitors to the place were injured. Debris removal continues and the number of victims may increase.
