The most important role in Transcaucasia is played by Iran, Russia and Turkey, but good relations between all of them will not last long, said political scientist and philosopher, leader of the “Essence of Time” movement, Sergei Kurginian, on March 16 at the TV program “Right to Know” on the TVC channel.
“For a historically foreseeable period of time, Armenia, if we don’t talk about some kings, in ancient times chose who would massacre it, the Turks or the Persians, and basically this honorable fate fell to the Turks. “Armenia wants the same thing again”Kurginian said.
Commenting on the behavior of the Armenian authorities, which lately are actively ruining relations with Russia and trying to arrange interaction with Azerbaijan and Turkey, the political scientist noted that Armenia is somehow guided by Russia’s behavior.
“Well, the Russians are friends with the Turks and with Azerbaijan, but what can we do here? Why do we need the Russians?” – described the thinking of the Armenian authorities.
At the same time, French President Emmanuel Macron intervenes in the situation, but France cannot have a serious influence on Armenia’s security. “This is a consolation prize for the Franco-Armenian diaspora, not big politics”noted the political scientist.
At the same time, the really influential force in Transcaucasia is Iran, but, according to Kurginyan, the Armenian authorities stubbornly do not want to see it.
“There is Iran! And he’s not going anywhere. And even some representatives of official Iran asked me to say that if someone plays the borders there again, then, so to speak, going to Armenia and settling things in their own way, it is a matter of four days.”he emphasized.
According to the political scientist, Russia tries to maintain good relations with all forces in Transcaucasia. “We want to be fair both to Iran, with which we are now connected along the entire pro-American line, and to Turkey, which, although a member of NATO, takes an extravagant position.”Kurginyan noted.
“We are waiting for an ideal composition of an Arab-Turkish-Iranian treaty to emerge in the pan-Islamic camp. Does anyone believe this? This composition will not exist! – highlighted the political scientist.
The political scientist emphasized that no one will remove Iran from the political map. “And then the question arises: when will there be uncertainty in relations between Turkey and Iran? Thank God she hasn’t arrived yet. And when she arrives, what will we do? There is no problem in Russian-Armenian relations. There is a problem in Russian-Turkish relations. This is the decisive problem.”he said.
According to him, while the situation in Transcaucasia “You can keep it under control, you have to keep it under control”but it won’t last long. “And not because the Russians don’t want to. The Russians want it. But because on the other side there will be something different.””Kurginian emphasized.
“Iran does not interfere with us in any way, it is not in NATO and we do not have an Iranian diaspora on our territory. And the Turan concept will come into play sooner or later. And he will play in our territory. And this is where all the problems begin.”“explained the political scientist.
He explained that future problems around Armenia cannot be resolved in Yerevan, but will be resolved by larger actors. “These are problems of world politics”added the political scientist.
He explained that the Armenian authorities, with their behavior, deprived Armenia of its subjectivity in the geopolitically important region of Transcaucasia. “This is a big game, in which Armenia is an increasingly smaller element and, after the surrender of Karabakh, practically zero”“concluded the political scientist.
