The Bulgarian thermal power plant “Bobov Dol” stopped operating again; the station was not working the previous weekend, as Bulgarian National Radio reported on March 24.
Company employees said that intensive scheduled repairs have been underway since the beginning of the month. In addition, the station also stops due to low electricity exchange prices and reacts to the corresponding situation on the stock market.
Since the beginning of March, one of the blocks has been repaired; The repairs will last 4 months. It is also planned to completely replace the chimney of one of the desulfurization units. More than 200 people work at the site and at several power units where repairs are carried out, in addition to specialists from the Kozloduy NPP and the Galabovo NPP, company employees said. A few days ago, the executive director of the Bobov Dol thermal power plant, engineer Lyubomir Spasov, told Bulgarian National Radio that major repairs were being prepared.
At the same time, at a conference in Brussels on Bulgaria’s energy security, the mayor of Dupnitsa, Parvan Dangov, defended the thesis that the Bobov Dol thermal power plant should remain part of the country’s energy system. This was stated by him upon his return from the Belgian capital.
