Brazil exported 2,646 thousand tons of eggs and fertilized chicks in February. Information from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) was published on March 20 in the online publication Euromeat News.
In February 2023, exports of genetic material amounted to 2,325 thousand tons. The growth was 13.8%. Revenue decreased by 7.4%, from 20.9 million dollars (1.95 billion rubles) a year ago to 19.4 dollars (1.8 thousand rubles) in 2024.
In the first two months of 2024, Brazilian companies sold 5,116 thousand tons of eggs and chickens abroad. In the same period last year, 4,646 thousand tons. Revenue decreased 8.2% to $38.7 million (3.6 billion rubles) this year from $42.2 million (3.9 billion rubles) in 2023.
Poultry meat shows a change in the direction of supply. Mexico, the main buyer of poultry meat, imported 1 million 656 thousand tons in the first two months of this year, 48.8% less than in the same period last year.
The Republic of South Africa purchased 1.49 thousand tons; there were no supplies in 2023. In third place is Senegal, which purchased 1,103,000 tons, an increase of 75%. Paraguay follows with 459 tons and Venezuela bought 101 tons.
